The Place de la Mairie in Mialet hosts a flea market every summer, combining a car boot sale, local produce, and a wine fair. Around 90 exhibitors set up in the village to offer flea market items, car boot sale goods, and local specialties to visitors. A painting exhibition complements the day's cultural offerings.

Mialet, a Village in Périgord Vert

Mialet is a rural commune in the Périgord Vert region, located between Thiviers and Lanouaille, in the northeast of the Dordogne. The village, surrounded by wooded hills and meadows, retains an authentic built heritage with its Romanesque church and granite houses. The Périgord Vert, a green and hilly territory, is renowned for its agricultural products: foie gras, walnuts, chestnuts, and local wines.

July 14th: A Complete Day of Celebration

The July 14th edition is the highlight of the summer in Mialet. The flea market and wine fair liven up the day, while in the evening, the festival committee organizes an outdoor barbecue meal, followed by fireworks and a popular ball. This complete package, combining treasure hunting and festivities, attracts a large family and festive crowd.

Local Produce and Wine Fair

The presence of local producers and winemakers distinguishes the Mialet flea market from simple car boot sales. Visitors can taste and buy Périgord local produce—foie gras, confit, walnuts, honey, cheeses—while browsing the flea market stalls. The wine fair showcases the appellations of the Southwest, in a country market atmosphere.
