Monthly professional flea market on the banks of the Indre, in the enchanting setting of Azay-le-Rideau
The flea market on the island is a popular event for lovers of beautiful finds. Located in the parking lot of the island, on the banks of the Indre, this event exclusively hosts professional antique dealers and second-hand dealers who offer a wide range of items: antique furniture, silverware, earthenware, paintings, old books, lighting, linens, trinkets, and various curiosities. The shaded setting and proximity to the water give this flea market a particularly pleasant atmosphere.
Azay-le-Rideau is world-renowned for its Renaissance castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the Châteaux of the Loire Valley. Built on an island in the Indre in the 16th century, it is one of the finest examples of early French Renaissance architecture. The town retains a remarkable heritage with its troglodyte houses, its Saint-Symphorien church, and its picturesque streets. The commune is located about twenty kilometers southwest of Tours, in the heart of the Loire Valley.
The flea market is held on the 5th Sundays of months that have five, from March to November, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Food is available on site. Admission is free for visitors, and parking nearby is easy. It's the ideal opportunity to combine a morning of bargain hunting with a visit to the castle and a walk along the Indre.
