The Saint-Jean Flea Market: a summer tradition in Ourouer-les-Bourdelins

Every end of June, the village of Ourouer-les-Bourdelins celebrates the Saint-Jean festival with its annual flea market organized by the OLB Festival Committee. This popular event is part of the tradition of patronal festivals in Berry, combining village conviviality and the pleasure of bargain hunting in a preserved rural setting.

A village in the south of Cher with rural heritage

Ourouer-les-Bourdelins, a commune of the Berry Grand Sud inter-municipal community, is located in the south of the Cher department, on the border between the Boischaut and the Allier valley. This village with its typically Berrichon architecture, with its stone houses and flat tile roofs, offers an authentic setting for this summer flea market. The Grande Rue and the areas around the village square are transformed into an open-air flea market.

A festive and popular Saint-Jean flea market

The Brocante de la Saint-Jean d'Ourouer-les-Bourdelins is above all a convivial village event. From 6 a.m., exhibitors set up their stalls, offering a mix of country furniture, tableware, old tools, books, trinkets, and collector's items. The stall fee, set at 1 euro per meter, remains very affordable. Volunteers from the Festival Committee ensure entertainment and refreshments throughout the day.
