Ciron is a commune of about 400 inhabitants located in the Creuse valley, southwest of Indre. The village is dominated by the impressive ruins of its castle, a 13th-century medieval fortress that once guarded a strategic crossing on the Creuse river. The ramparts, towers, and keep bear witness to the power of this stronghold, which played a role in the Hundred Years' War. The village also retains a Romanesque church and old houses that form a coherent architectural ensemble. The banks of the Creuse, shaded and peaceful, invite leisurely walks.
The Ciron flea market offers a unique setting, between the ruins of the medieval castle and the banks of the Creuse. Admission is free and the village atmosphere makes treasure hunting particularly enjoyable.
The Ciron flea market returns on May 31, 2026, at the foot of the medieval castle. Free admission.
