Large annual professional flea market in the heart of the village of Boisset in Cantal
For over forty years, the small village of Boisset, nestled in the Châtaigneraie cantalienne, has hosted one of the oldest and most popular flea markets in the department each spring. This event, organized with passion by the Boisset Tourist Office, has built a loyal following of bargain hunters from all over Cantal and neighboring departments.
On the day of the flea market, the entire commune transforms into a vast market of antique objects. Around Place Angèle Fel, about sixty professional exhibitors display their treasures: antique furniture, collectibles, trinkets, tableware, old tools, books, and many other curiosities. The exhibitors, set up from 5:30 am, welcome visitors from 7 am to 6 pm in a warm and festive atmosphere.
Beyond the bargain hunting, the Brocante de Boisset offers activities that delight young and old alike. A miniature fire truck exhibition attracts collectors and the curious. The grand raffle, with prizes from the exhibitors, adds a playful touch to the day. The catered food, provided by the Auberge Occitane de Saint-Mamet, allows visitors to enjoy local specialties on site.
Boisset is a commune in the Châtaigneraie, the southern part of Cantal with its rolling green landscapes. The village, crossed by small picturesque roads, retains an authentic rural charm. The annual flea market is one of the highlights of communal life, bringing together residents and visitors around a shared passion for objects of yesteryear.
