Flea market and art craft market in the wine-growing village of Lussac, near Saint-Émilion
Every summer, the village of Lussac (33570) hosts a flea market and an art craft market in its picturesque streets. Second-hand dealers and artisans share the space to offer visitors an original mix of antique furniture, trinkets, collector's items and handmade creations: paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, turned wood objects, designer lighting, and art textiles.
Lussac is a commune of about 1,500 inhabitants nestled on the hillsides of the right bank of the Dordogne, northeast of Saint-Émilion. Its Lussac-Saint-Émilion appellation produces renowned red wines. The village has remarkable heritage with its Romanesque Church of Saint-Pierre, its Gallo-Roman villas, and its rolling vineyard landscapes. The flea market benefits from this enchanting setting, making it a cultural as well as a shopping outing.
The originality of this event lies in the cohabitation between second-hand dealers and art craftsmen. Visitors move from a stand of antique earthenware to a contemporary ceramics workshop, from a lot of vintage postcards to an exhibition of original paintings. The refreshments and food allow for an extended day of discoveries.
