Every first weekend of September, nearly 900 exhibitors from all over Europe take over 5 hectares of meadow along the Charente river, at the Baignade de Labattue. The event attracts between 13,000 and 15,000 visitors from France, Spain, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, and elsewhere. Founded nearly 50 years ago, this event has become a must-see for bargain hunters, antique dealers, and flea market enthusiasts from around the world.

One of the largest flea markets in France

The Bric à Brac de Marsac is an institution for flea markets in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. For nearly half a century, this event has brought together around 900 exhibitors on 5 hectares of meadows along the Charente river, at the Baignade de Labattue site, every first weekend of September. It is one of the most important events on the European flea market calendar.

International reach

The reputation of the Bric à Brac de Marsac extends far beyond the borders of Charente. The event attracts between 13,000 and 15,000 visitors from all over France, as well as from Spain, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, and even Japan and Russia. Professional antique dealers, second-hand dealers, and individuals mingle in a unique atmosphere, combining the passion for treasure hunting and Charente's conviviality.

Two days of treasure hunting by the Charente

On Saturday, the gates open as early as 5 a.m. for the earliest professional dealers, while on Sunday, visitors are welcomed from 8 a.m. The aisles of this gigantic open-air market offer an endless panorama of antique furniture, art objects, tableware, books, vinyl records, tools, antique linens, trinkets, and curiosities from all eras.

Marsac, in the heart of the Charente region

Marsac is a rural commune located about ten kilometers north of Angoulême, in the Charente valley. The Baignade de Labattue site, on the riverbank, offers an exceptional natural setting for this event, with vast shaded meadows ideal for a weekend of treasure hunting.
