Solidarity sale at the Salle Marquis de Roys in Moret-sur-Loing
The Moret-sur-Loing Solidarity Sale is a charity event organized at the Salle Marquis de Roys, an emblematic community hall in this medieval town on the banks of the Loing. Clothing, books, toys and everyday items are offered at low prices by volunteers from the organizing association, in an approach of local solidarity and reuse. An opportunity to browse usefully while supporting social actions carried out on the territory of Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne.
At the beginning of May, the Salle Marquis de Roys in Moret-sur-Loing hosts the annual solidarity sale. This event, organized by a local charitable association, offers visitors the chance to browse at low prices in a friendly atmosphere, while contributing to the financing of solidarity actions. This type of event, halfway between a flea market and a charity sale, is enjoying growing success with an audience keen to give meaning to their purchases.
The solidarity sale is based on a double logic: on the one hand, giving a second life to clothing, books, toys and objects collected from individuals and partner companies; on the other hand, allocating the proceeds from sales to local or international solidarity projects (aid to families in difficulty, school support, food aid, humanitarian projects).
The Salle Marquis de Roys is one of the main municipal halls of Moret-sur-Loing. It bears the name of a former mayor of the town and regularly hosts associative events, exhibitions, conferences and solidarity events. Its warm character and central location make it the ideal setting for a solidarity sale accessible to all.
Visitors find a wide variety of items at the solidarity sale, generally sorted and presented with care by volunteers: clothing for men, women and children, shoes, bags and accessories, household linen, books, games and toys, tableware, small household appliances, trinkets and sometimes small furniture. Prices are deliberately very gentle to allow people on modest incomes to benefit and to democratize access to reuse.
Beyond the sale itself, visitors take advantage of their visit to (re)discover the charms of Moret-sur-Loing: the Burgundy gate, the Notre-Dame church, the banks of the Loing dear to Alfred Sisley, the nuns' barley sugar factory and the cobbled alleys of the historic center.
The solidarity sale is held on Sunday May 3, 2026 at the Salle Marquis de Roys. Free admission. Access via Transilien R (Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons) or via the A6/N6.
