Dabo is a village of 2,600 inhabitants perched at 450 meters altitude in the heart of the Vosges massif. Its famous rock, topped by a chapel dedicated to Saint Leo IX, an 11th-century Alsatian pope, overlooks the valley and offers a 360-degree panorama of the Vosges, the Alsace plain, and the Black Forest. The village, surrounded by fir forests and pink sandstone, lives from tourism and forestry.
