About Péronne Braderie

The Péronne Commercial Braderie takes place on Saturday 3 October 2026 on Place Commandant L'Daudre and in the shopping streets of the town centre. Organised by Péronne's shopkeepers, it transforms the centre into a vast open-air clearance event, with shops set up on pavements, bargains and entertainment. A fixture of the early autumn in this historic Haute-Somme town. Free entry.

The commercial braderie, a Péronne tradition

Péronne, a sub-prefecture of 7,700 inhabitants at the heart of the Haute-Somme, keeps the tradition of its shopkeepers' braderies alive. The 2026 autumn edition is scheduled for Saturday 3 October, mainly on Place Commandant L'Daudre and the adjacent shopping streets. Unlike village réderies, the commercial braderie is exclusively the work of the town-centre shops, which bring their stock out onto the pavements for a major clearance operation.

A unique commercial model

Heir to the old medieval braderies, the commercial braderie sees local shopkeepers set up rails, tables and boxes right in front of their stores. Clothing, shoes, bazaar items, toys, home decor, costume jewellery, textiles and many other goods are offered at slashed prices, sometimes 30-70% off. It is the ideal opportunity to grab good deals on new items while supporting local commerce. Attendance is usually strong, drawing customers from across the Haute-Somme.

A town-centre celebration

Beyond shopping, the braderie is a town-centre festival. Traffic is rerouted to let pedestrians stroll from one pavement to the other. Cafés and restaurants put out their terraces, local associations sometimes run food stands, and the atmosphere is that of a festive, popular Saturday. In some years, musical or roving entertainment accompanies the event.

Péronne, town of history

Use your visit to the braderie to discover Péronne and its rich heritage. The Historial de la Grande Guerre, housed in the medieval castle, is one of Europe's leading museums on the 1914-1918 conflict. The historic centre, largely rebuilt after the war, retains brick-and-stone houses typical of the Haute-Somme. The Haute-Somme ponds, an angling paradise, stretch north of the town. Access via the A1 or A29 motorways.
