Réderie of the Boves village festival
Boves, a commune of about 3,500 inhabitants just south-east of Amiens, holds its annual village festival, a major festive occasion for its residents. The Village Festival Réderie takes place on Monday 28 September 2026 in the town centre, from 7am to 5pm. Run by the Comité des fêtes, it closely combines bargain hunting and village celebration: while exhibitors unpack their treasures, rides, funfair attractions and food stands liven up the village.
Unlike classic flea markets, the Boves réderie is part of the wider village festival. Of course you browse, but you also have a drink, take the children on rides and enjoy the entertainment offered by the organising committee. This festive format is particularly appreciated by families, who combine the search for finds with children's entertainment. The hours (7am-5pm) match local habits: early for morning hunters, activities in the afternoon.
Exhibitors — mostly private sellers from Boves and neighbouring communes, plus a few dealers — offer the classic Picard vide-grenier mix: furniture, tableware, clothing, toys, books, records, trinkets. Booking is mandatory for exhibitors, allowing the committee to organise a good stall layout in the town centre. For visitors, admission is free.
Boves is a residential commune of the Amiens metropolis, close to downtown Amiens (15 minutes by car) yet in touch with the Picard countryside. The Boves castle, listed as a historic monument, and its landscape of marshes and ponds are worth a detour. The commune is active in community life, and the village festival is one of the year's highlights, rallying residents and the Comité des fêtes for a warm, popular day.
The atmosphere of the Boves réderie is that of a festive Monday: families strolling, neighbours meeting, children on the rides, relaxed exhibitors chatting. Catering is provided: fries, grilled meats, pancakes and drinks on site. A convivial, simple moment to finish this late-September festive weekend on a high note.
