BCC Cernay Garage Sale, a May Day tradition
The BCC Cernay Garage Sale is organized every year by Basket Club Cernay (BCC), one of the town's most active sports associations. Taking advantage of the May 1st bank holiday, the club offers local residents a selling and exchange space reserved exclusively for private individuals. Children's and adult clothing, toys, books, records, crockery, tools and decorative items make up most of the stalls.

Cernay is a town of around 12,000 inhabitants located in Haut-Rhin, on the Alsace plain, at the confluence of the Thur and the Rhine-Rhône canal. A long-standing industrial town, it is close to Mulhouse, Switzerland and Germany.

The BCC garage sale is a true neighbourhood celebration, where early-rising sellers and curious visitors cross paths throughout the day. The relaxed May Day atmosphere, the opportunity to find bargains and the friendliness of the volunteers make it a favourite event for Cernay residents and those from surrounding villages.
