The spring bargain hunters' gathering in the heart of Bazemont village
The Bazemont flea market is a yearly must-attend event that brings the center of this small Yvelines village to life every spring. Held on rue des écoles and nearby streets, it gathers individuals and flea market enthusiasts in a friendly, family atmosphere. On the menu: bric-a-brac, old objects, toys, clothes, books and little curiosities, all in the green hills of the Mantois region.
Every April, the small village of Bazemont, nestled in the hills of the Mantois in the western Yvelines, hosts its traditional flea market. Set in the village center, on rue des écoles and surrounding streets, it attracts bargain hunters and curious visitors from neighboring towns including Mantes-la-Jolie, Les Mureaux, Aubergenville and Epône. It is one of the first major flea market events of the season for collectors in the area.
True to Bazemont's character, a village of fewer than a thousand inhabitants overlooking the Seine Valley, the flea market maintains a human scale and a welcoming atmosphere. The mostly private exhibitors set up at dawn (from 5:30 to 7 AM) before opening to the public at 8 AM. The alleys, lined with typical old Mantois houses, offer a charming backdrop for a morning of treasure hunting.
The Bazemont flea market brings together a varied selection: antique or vintage furniture, tableware, decorative items, old toys, books, vinyl records, clothing and accessories, tools, and everyday objects from years past. Prices remain affordable since the event focuses on popular, accessible flea market culture. Great finds abound for those who arrive early and know how to bargain, in the true tradition of village brocantes.
The refreshment stand and food stalls open continuously from 6 AM, offering coffee, pastries, drinks and hot meals throughout the day. The event runs until 6 PM, allowing visitors to enjoy the alleys and spring weather.
Just 50 km from the capital, Bazemont offers a welcome rural break. Visitors can extend their visit by exploring neighboring villages such as Maule, Aulnay-sur-Mauldre or Mareil-sur-Mauldre, the preserved farmland of the plateau, and views over the Seine loop.
