Car boot sale, farmers' market and crafts in the streets of Corbère village in the Ribéral
The Corbère car boot sale is a much-anticipated spring event for locals and bargain hunters across the department. Organised by the ASP2C association, it takes place on Rue de l'Aire and Rue de la Fontaine, in the heart of the old village. Private exhibitors, local producers and craftspeople gather in the shaded streets to offer clothing, crockery, toys, books, trinkets and everyday items, along with fruit, vegetables, cheeses, charcuterie and Catalan artisan products. The day starts early, from 6 a.m., for early birds eager to find the best deals.
Corbère is a small village of 780 inhabitants located in the Ribéral plain, between the foothills of the Aspres and the Têt valley. Twenty kilometres west of Perpignan, the commune benefits from a preserved agricultural setting, famous for its orchards and olive groves. The village retains its traditional Catalan character, with pebble houses and a Romanesque church. The Ribéral, a small natural region of the Pyrénées-Orientales, is historically shaped by irrigation and fruit growing, and Corbère carries on this rural heritage through community events such as this car boot sale, which keeps village life thriving.
