Organised by the Parent-Teacher Association of the Jan et Joël Martel public school, this car boot sale celebrates its 26th edition in 2026—a testament to its long-standing place in the local community. The event will take place on Sunday, July 5th, 2026, in the Parc de l'Équaizière on Rue Jan et Joël Martel, a lush green setting in the heart of La Garnache that provides a delightful backdrop for both sellers and treasure hunters.

The 117 pitches, each measuring 3m x 3m, are reserved exclusively for private individuals, ensuring a friendly, village-like atmosphere and great bargains. Advance registration is required at a cost of €10 per pitch. The event is open to visitors from 8 am to 6 pm, with setup for exhibitors starting at 7 am.

La Garnache, a town in the North-West Vendée

La Garnache is a vibrant town of approximately 5,200 residents, located 8 km north-east of Challans, between Le Bois-de-Céné and Saint-Christophe-du-Ligneron. It boasts remarkable heritage, including the ruins of the 11th-century medieval castle of La Garnache, one of the most significant historical sites in the Vendée, which served as a stronghold during the War in the Vendée. The Jan et Joël Martel public school, which gives its name to the PTA, honours the two sculptor brothers Jan and Joël Martel, famous for their Art Deco works (war memorials, fountains, bas-reliefs). The Parc de l'Équaizière, where the sale is held, is one of the town's most popular green spaces.
