The great summer flea market of southern Deux-Sèvres in the village streets
Every August, the town of Sauzé-Vaussais transforms into a vast open-air market dedicated to antiques and second-hand goods. This Antique Fair, carefully orchestrated by the local Festival Committee, is one of the highlights in this commune situated at the southern extremity of Deux-Sèvres, on the border with Charente.
Stands occupy the town hall squares, the market hall area, the Grand-Puits sector, and the main streets including Rue Neuve, Grande-Rue and Rue de la Chevallonnerie. This generous spread offers visitors an extended walking and browsing route.
Sauzé-Vaussais is a quintessential antique-hunting territory. The commune houses Le Grenier de Sauzé, a permanent 1,600 m² antique space open year-round, testifying to the local attachment to the antique trade.
