The monthly meeting for antique and flea market lovers at the foot of Angers Castle
Every first Sunday of the month, Rue Toussaint and its surroundings host the Antiquities and Beautiful Flea Market of Angers Castle. Organized by Muller Brocante, this market brings together about thirty selected professionals - antique dealers, second-hand dealers, and bargain hunters - who present antique furniture, collectible items, jewelry, books, and curiosities in an exceptional setting at the foot of the medieval castle.
The Antiquities and Beautiful Flea Market of the Castle is one of the unmissable events for lovers of antique objects and flea markets in Anjou. Organized by Muller Brocante, this monthly market is held every first Sunday of the month, on Rue Toussaint and Rue du Musée, in the historic district of Angers, a stone's throw from the medieval castle and Saint-Maurice Cathedral.
About thirty hand-picked professionals - antique dealers, experienced second-hand dealers, and specialized traders - display their stalls to present a quality selection: antique and period furniture, decorative objects, tableware and silverware, collectible jewelry and watches, old books, prints, 78 rpm records, antique toys, and all sorts of curiosities.
Rue Toussaint and its surroundings form a first-rate architectural setting. Between the tuffeau facades, the Toussaint media library (former abbey), and the imposing silhouette of the Château d'Angers with its seventeen towers, hunting for treasures here is as much a cultural experience as a commercial one. The quality of the selection and the regularity of the event make it a benchmark in the entire Pays de la Loire region.
Seasoned collectors rub shoulders with curious passers-by and decorators looking for rare pieces. The friendly atmosphere of this monthly market, combined with the professionalism of the exhibitors, guarantees authentic discoveries at each edition.
Angers (49000) is the prefecture of Maine-et-Loire and the metropolis of Anjou, a city of art and history at the crossroads of the Loire and Maine rivers. Its castle, built in the 13th century by Louis IX, houses the famous Apocalypse Tapestry, the largest collection of medieval tapestries preserved in the world, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city, rich in its architectural heritage, gardens, and gastronomy, attracts many visitors each year who gladly extend their stay by visiting the monthly flea market.
