Grand car boot sale in the Rochetaillée district of Saint-Étienne
Rochetaillée is a village district perched at over 700 meters altitude, part of the commune of Saint-Étienne but retaining a strong village identity. Every year in June, its annual car boot sale attracts bargain hunters from Saint-Étienne who come up to enjoy the fresh air and good deals.
Around 100 exhibitors set up in the village streets and on the outskirts, offering crockery, toys, clothes, books, trinkets, and small furniture. The exceptional natural setting, with views of the Rochetaillée dam and the Furan valley, gives this car boot sale a special atmosphere.
The Rochetaillée dam, built in the 19th century to supply Saint-Étienne with drinking water, is a remarkable structure located just a stone's throw from the car boot sale. Visitors can take the opportunity to hike in the Gorges du Furan or discover the heritage of this mountain village.
The annual Rochetaillée flea market returns on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in the perched village of Saint-Étienne. Around fifty to a hundred private exhibitors offer crockery, toys, clothes, and trinkets to bargain hunters, from 7 am to 5:30 pm, outdoors on Place du Château and indoors in the Salle des Échéneaux.
