Bargain hunting and craft creations in the heart of Albi
Organized by the Pelloutier traders' association, this flea market combined with a creators' fair takes over Place Fernand Pelloutier in the heart of Albi. On this large pedestrian square, 74 stalls welcome bargain hunters, families, and curious visitors for a friendly day blending family flea market, local creations, and small producers. A gourmet and thrift escape at the foot of the UNESCO-listed episcopal city.
Organized by the Pelloutier Traders' Association, this new Albi gathering brings together a flea market, creators' fair, and small producers' market in a single friendly event. Set on Place Fernand Pelloutier, a vast pedestrian esplanade just steps from the Sainte-Cécile Cathedral and the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum, the event enjoys one of the most beautiful urban settings in the Tarn.
Across 74 stands spread throughout the square, private sellers display clothing, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, and family bric-a-brac. Alongside them, local creators — jewelers, ceramicists, leather workers, illustrators, soap makers — present their original handmade pieces from Occitanie. A dedicated area also features small Tarn producers offering Gaillac wines, cheeses, and sweet specialties.
The event runs from 8 am to 5 pm in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere typical of Sunday mornings in Albi. Several food and drink stands around the square invite visitors to linger over a coffee, a glass of local wine, or a gourmet plate. Children will enjoy the second-hand toy aisles and the occasional activities organized by neighboring shops.
Arrive early to grab the best deals from private sellers, and save the early afternoon for discovering the creators, who are usually more available to talk about their work. Bring cash, a sturdy bag, and stay hydrated. Since Place Pelloutier is at the center of Albi, take the opportunity to continue with a walk through the old town or along the banks of the Tarn.
