The family fair at the Albert covered market
This event's unique feature is combining three complementary themes for families: toys, clothes and books. The extended formula lets parents renew most of their children's needs in a single visit.
An iconic municipal asset, the covered market hosts markets, exhibitions, salons and fairs year-round. The indoor format guarantees comfort in sometimes fickle spring weather.
Toys: soft toys, dolls, figurines, board games, puzzles, educational games, miniature cars, video games, older consoles. Clothes: children's clothes 0-14, shoes, coats, sportswear, maternity wear. Books: children's albums, youth and teen novels, comics, paperbacks, some textbooks.
A town of about 10,000 dominated by Notre-Dame-de-Brebières basilica with its famous Golden Virgin. Destroyed in WWI, rebuilt in coherent art deco. The Somme 1916 Museum in medieval underground galleries offers an immersive tour of trench life.
For Albert, Péronne, Bapaume and Doullens area families, this spring fair is particularly useful. Children grow fast; this allows seasonal transitions without breaking the budget.
On Sunday 12 April 2026, Albert's covered market hosted the annual toys, clothes and books fair. Exhibitors, mostly local parents, offered well-organised stands: clothes sorted by size, toys by age, books by theme.
Visitors, mostly young families, enjoyed attractive prices to refresh equipment and wardrobes. Grandparents seeking gifts and childminders added regular buyers.
The fair confirms its useful place in the regional family calendar. See you in 2027.
