The spring gathering of the charming Yvelines village of Aigremont
Every spring, Aigremont, a charming village in the Yvelines located between Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Poissy, hosts its traditional flea market in the village centre along the Grande Rue. Around one hundred private exhibitors offer bargain hunters clothing, toys, books, crockery and small treasures in a warm and family village atmosphere.
Perched on the heights overlooking the Seine valley, between the Saint-Germain-en-Laye forest and Poissy, Aigremont is one of those small Yvelines communes where community life and neighbourly bonds still hold an essential place. Every spring, the village streets come alive to host a friendly flea market.
The event is held mainly around the Grande Rue, the village's historic main street. Around a hundred individuals set up stalls offering all kinds of second-hand items: adult and children's clothing, toys, books, small furniture, crockery, baby gear, trinkets, records, tools and garden equipment. The atmosphere remains family-friendly, with the charming feel of a village fair.
Organised by the commune and local associations, this flea market is an important moment in Aigremont's social life. It offers residents a chance to meet, exchange news and declutter gently. For outside visitors, it is the opportunity to discover a little-known commune and uncover finds at modest prices.
With its narrow streets, stone houses and Romanesque Saint-Étienne church, Aigremont charms visitors with its authenticity. The commune, with only around a thousand inhabitants, has preserved its rural character while remaining close to the major towns of the Seine loop.
The best deals are often to be found in the early morning when exhibitors unpack their treasures. Bring change, a sturdy bag and comfortable shoes. Access by car is easy with parking nearby. Admission is free for all visitors.
