3rd edition of the foire à tout of Château-sur-Epte, in the Vexin normand
Château-sur-Epte, a village in the Vexin normand on the border between Eure and Val-d'Oise, will host the 3rd edition of its foire à tout in 2026. Created a few years ago, this spring event has quickly found its audience among the inhabitants of the village and its surroundings, as well as among flea market enthusiasts from the Vexin normand and the neighboring Vexin français.
Château-sur-Epte owes its name to the remains of a medieval castle that once controlled the border between Normandy and Île-de-France. The river Epte, which flows at the foot of the village, marked the limit of the Duchy of Normandy in the Middle Ages: it was on its banks that the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte was signed in 911, by which Charles the Simple ceded Normandy to the Vikings under Rollo. This exceptional historical past gives the village a remarkable charm.
Born from the enthusiasm of a local association, the foire à tout of Château-sur-Epte is in its third edition in 2026. This steady progress testifies to the vitality of the local associative fabric and the growing appeal of this event for treasure hunters in the Vexin. Individuals and a few professional dealers offer furniture, objects, clothes, books, and trinkets at affordable prices.
