For its 21st edition, the Chinaillon car boot sale takes over the main street of this high-altitude hamlet of Le Grand-Bornand. In late July 2026, around 100 sellers set up in this family ski resort perched above 1,300 meters in the Aravis massif.

A hundred sellers on the main street

The main street of Le Chinaillon transforms into a long ribbon of colourful stalls. Sellers, mostly private individuals, offer mountain clothing, second-hand ski equipment, books, toys, Savoyard tableware, chalet furniture and all kinds of curiosities at just €4 per linear meter.

21 years of tradition

Created over twenty years ago, this car boot sale has become a must-attend summer event in Le Grand-Bornand.

Le Chinaillon, a high-altitude hamlet

Le Chinaillon is Le Grand-Bornand's main ski area, but in summer it transforms into a peaceful Alpine pasture hamlet with wooden chalets, flowering meadows and hiking trails to the Col de la Colombière.
