The Vide-Greniers des Valvarniens in Chaumont
The Vide-Greniers des Valvarniens, also known as the Val-Varinot flea market, was organized annually in June in Chaumont (52000), prefecture of Haute-Marne. Organized by the Association des Valvarniens, it gathered about sixty exhibitors, mostly individuals, on the Val-Varinot grounds, rue Édouard Manet.
The 15th edition took place on June 16, 2024. As of our verification date (May 2026), no public source announces a 2026 edition, and the page that the city of Chaumont dedicated to this event is no longer online. We are therefore unable to confirm the holding of a 16th edition this year.
Chaumont is the prefecture of Haute-Marne, perched on a limestone spur overlooking the confluence of the Suize and the Marne. The city is notably known for its railway viaduct and its International Poster Festival. The Val-Varinot district, which gives its name to the association, is a residential and industrial area to the east of the city.
Past editions offered a classic neighborhood flea market selection: furniture, crockery, books, clothes, toys, trinkets. Admission was free for visitors, and the association ran a refreshment stand and light catering on site.
