Paris region flea markets for Ascension: ODER charity, Marais antiques and Puces du Design

From Montmorency to the Marais, Fontainebleau to Sceaux: 10 flea markets across the Paris region for the Ascension long weekend, from charity hunting to mid-century design.

The Ascension long weekend is one of the three or four moments in the year when the Paris region unpacks everything it has: the great biannual flea markets of the Marais, the historic charity sale in Val-d'Oise, the neighbourhood vide-greniers in Paris and the village antique fairs of the outer ring. Three days of intense hunting where the territory's diversity shows in full, from inner suburbs to far countryside, from sharp antique dealers to households simply clearing their attic. Our pick this week: the ODER fair in Montmorency, in Val-d'Oise — the largest charity flea market in the Paris region, organised non-stop since 1964, and so massive in scale (5,000 sqm, 500 volunteers, 10,000 expected visitors) that it stands in a category of its own.

ODER, the great charity flea market in Montmorency (Val-d'Oise)

From May 14 to 17, the 62nd edition of L'ODER (Opération d'Entraide Régionale) takes over 12 bis avenue Victor Hugo in Montmorency. Founded in 1964, this exceptional event mobilises over 500 volunteers from 80 Val-d'Oise municipalities, with more than 5,000 sqm of exhibition space filled with furniture, tableware, books, knick-knacks, clothes, toys and curiosities collected year-round from residents. All proceeds go to regional charities. A giant flea market, a social event and a solidarity operation rolled into one: ODER has no equivalent in the Paris region. Best visited on Thursday or Saturday morning when crowds are thinner.

Rue de Bretagne flea market, 500 dealers in the heart of the Marais (Paris 3rd)

From May 15 to 17, the Brocante de la Rue de Bretagne is one of the largest biannual gatherings for Parisian hunters. In the heart of the Marais, around 500 professional and amateur dealers set up stands along rue de Bretagne, rue Perrée, rue Spuller and boulevard du Temple. Mid-century furniture, porcelain, silverware, old books, prints, vintage and curiosities: the offer is wide but serious, with a strong proportion of established antique dealers. One of the rare Paris formats combining density of dealers, quality and free access. Come early for the best pieces, later for the neighbourhood vibe.

Puces du Design, 20th-century furniture at Bercy Village (Paris 12th)

The Puces du Design return to Place des Vins de France around Bercy Village for their 2026 spring edition. This biannual open-air and marquee-based fair, free of charge, brings together the leading European specialists in 20th-century design: Scandinavian, Italian and French furniture, signed lighting, ceramics, art glass. A reference for anyone interested in pieces by Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Paulin, Verner Panton or Murano glassmakers. The spring edition runs the full month of May and falls right on the Ascension weekend: easy to combine with a walk along the Seine or a visit to Parc de Bercy.

Canal Saint-Martin giant vide-grenier (Paris 10th)

On Sunday May 17, quai de Valmy and quai de Jemmapes host one of the biggest spring vide-greniers in Paris: the Canal Saint-Martin giant vide-grenier. Organised by the Village Canal Saint-Martin association, it gathers more than 250 sellers, mostly residents of the 10th arrondissement. Vintage clothing, vinyl, books, tableware, knick-knacks, toys: people come to hunt, but also for the atmosphere, in one of the most photogenic neighbourhoods in the capital. It gets crowded around midday — come early for the best finds.

Fontainebleau monthly antique fair, in the shadow of the imperial city (Seine-et-Marne)

On Sunday May 17, the May edition of the Fontainebleau monthly antique fair sets up on Place de l'Aigle Noir, in the centre of the imperial city, a stone's throw from the château. Reserved for professionals, it brings together around thirty antique dealers in a prestigious setting. Furniture, curiosities, tableware, prints, jewellery: the selection is demanding, more for seasoned hunters than for family vide-grenier scrolling. A great opportunity to combine an antique-hunting day with a visit to the château or a walk in the forest.

CSL Bullion flea market, jubilee 60th edition (Yvelines)

On Saturday May 16, the Brocante du CSL Bullion celebrates its 60th edition in the natural setting of Les Framboisines, rue des Aulnettes. Organised since 1966 by the Centre Sportif et de Loisirs de Bullion, it is one of the oldest flea markets in southern Yvelines and remains one of the great hunting events of the Mantois and Rambolitais. Up to 150 exhibitors deploy on a single day, in a rural setting, as part of the four-day Fête de Bullion. Family atmosphere, on-site catering, free parking. A great pick for those who want to escape Paris without going far.

Sceaux giant vide-grenier, along the Le Nôtre park (Hauts-de-Seine)

On Sunday May 17, avenue Le Nôtre becomes the backdrop for the Sceaux giant vide-grenier, one of the great spring classics in the inner ring. Around 120 sellers, mostly private and a few professionals, lay out clothes, toys, small furniture, books and figurines from 8am to 5pm along the magnificent Parc de Sceaux. A relaxed family formula, halfway between neighbourhood hunting and Sunday stroll. Parking in adjacent streets, refreshments on site, RER B nearby.

Corbeil-Essonnes covered market flea market (Essonne)

On Sunday May 17, Penichost Organisation takes over the covered market on Place d'Essonnes in Corbeil-Essonnes for a half-indoor, half-outdoor flea market. From 5:30am to 4pm, 50 to 100 amateur sellers deploy their stands in this restored heritage building, a stone's throw from Saint-Spire cathedral. Reservation required for sellers, free entry for visitors. An unusual format in a historic town often overlooked, and a perfect base for exploring the Essonne riverside.

Moulin du Sempin vide-grenier, at the foot of the monument (Seine-Saint-Denis)

On Sunday May 17, 136 rue des Moulins in Montfermeil hosts the Moulin du Sempin vide-grenier, held every spring at the foot of this listed historic windmill. Around a hundred private sellers offer furniture, clothes, toys, books and antiques in a warm village atmosphere. One of the rare heritage hunting events in Seine-Saint-Denis, in a corner of the eastern suburbs often left off Paris selections. Best combined with a visit to the mill itself, one of the last surviving in the Paris region.

Ablon-sur-Seine Place d'Europe vide-grenier (Val-de-Marne)

On Sunday May 17, the Place d'Europe in Ablon-sur-Seine turns into a vast second-hand market. The annual Ablon-sur-Seine vide-grenier, organised by Penichost, gathers between 100 and 200 private sellers in a peaceful riverside setting, just minutes from the Sénart forest. A family day that naturally extends the Sunday hunting mood in the south-east of the metropolis. Modest pitch prices, RER C close by, free entry for visitors.
