A beautiful flea market in a quintessential Vexin village
Counted among France's most beautiful villages, Wy-dit-Joli-Village fully deserves its name ('Wy, the Pretty Village'). Perched on a rocky outcrop above the Aubette valley, this hamlet of a few dozen residents offers outstanding architectural and landscape heritage: flint-stone lanes, a 12th-century Romanesque church dedicated to Saint Romain, and panoramic views over the Vexin cereal plains. It is in this remarkable setting that the 1 May flea market takes place.
The market fills the village streets and surrounds the church of Saint-Romain (9 rue Saint-Romain). Between 100 and 200 vendors — a mix of private sellers and professionals — begin setting up at 5:30am, offering antique furniture, decorative objects, crockery, clothing, books, vinyl records and all manner of bric-a-brac. Visitors are welcome from 8am to 5:30pm. Pre-registration is required for sellers; clothing stalls are limited to ensure variety.
