Permanent flea market and antique site in the former Château des Comtes d'Armagnac in Lectoure
Since the closure of medical services in July 2013, the former Château des Comtes d'Armagnac in Lectoure has found a second life thanks to the Association des Vieilles Marmites, which created the Village des Brocanteurs there. This historic 15th-century building, which became a hospital-manufactory in 1749, now houses about thirty merchants in its 13 rooms spread over several levels, offering treasure hunters a unique discovery journey.
Visiting the Village des Brocanteurs is a true stroll through the ages. In the former chapel, you can discover Baroque pieces and exceptional furniture. The following rooms hold items from the 1950s, embroidered antique linens, vinyl records, Gascon farmhouse tableware, paintings, light fixtures, and all sorts of curiosities. The basement galleries have been transformed into artist studios, where painting and sculpture coexist with the flea market.
Perched on a promontory overlooking the Gers valley, Lectoure is one of the most beautiful cities in the department. Former capital of the County of Armagnac, the city preserves an exceptional heritage: Saint-Gervais-et-Saint-Protais Cathedral, ramparts, Gallo-Roman baths, and private mansions. The Village des Brocanteurs is part of this cultural dynamic that makes Lectoure one of the most popular destinations in the Gers, with its summer photography festival and lively markets.
The Village des Brocanteurs is located at 127 Cours d'Armagnac, 32700 Lectoure. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday all year round, and every day in July and August, from 9 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 7 pm. Admission is free for visitors.
