Car boot sale of the local festival of Lectoure, organized by the Town Hall in the heart of the Lomagne city
As part of its local festival, the town of Lectoure is organizing a car boot sale that takes over the streets and squares of the city. From 8 am to 6 pm, private sellers set up their stalls in the historic center of this perched city, offering bargain hunters and strollers a day of flea market in an exceptional heritage setting.
Lectoure is one of the most beautiful towns in the Gers, and its historic center offers an incomparable setting for a car boot sale. Stalls are set up along the cobbled streets, in the shaded squares, and around the Saint-Gervais Cathedral. Clothing, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, furniture, and various objects are displayed in a festive and popular atmosphere, enhanced by the local festival's entertainment.
Lectoure (32700) is a Lomagne city of about 3,500 inhabitants, perched on a rocky spur overlooking the Gers valley. Former capital of the Counts of Armagnac, the city preserves exceptional heritage: a Gothic cathedral, ramparts, the Executioner's Tower, an archaeological museum rich in Gallo-Roman taurobolic altars, thermal baths, and private mansions. Lectoure is also known for its tradition of pastel blue, this plant-based dye that made the region's fortune in the Middle Ages.
The Lectoure local festival is a highlight of the city's life, combining musical entertainment, street performances, popular meals, and, of course, a car boot sale. It is an opportunity for the people of Lectoure and visitors to come together in a festive and friendly atmosphere, in the majestic setting of this historic city.
Organized in early May, the car boot sale takes advantage of the Lomagne spring and the first Gascon warmth. The opening hours from 8 am to 6 pm allow early birds to get the best deals right from the start, and afternoon strollers to enjoy the local festival's entertainment while browsing the flea market stalls.
