The twice-yearly neighbourhood flea market organised by the Blondeaux council on Rue des Écoles
In L'Haÿ-les-Roses, neighbourhood councils play a key role in local community life. The Blondeaux council, representing one of the residential areas of this commune of 32,000 inhabitants famous for its Roseraie du Val-de-Marne, regularly organises its flea market on Rue des Écoles, transforming this quiet street into a lively open-air market.
The event takes place twice a year, with a spring edition generally in May and an autumn edition in September. This is the rhythm of French neighbourhood flea markets: two annual gatherings that mark the seasons and allow residents to declutter while contributing to the local circular economy.
L'Haÿ-les-Roses town hall has established a simple, affordable registration system: €5 for a 2-metre pitch, with a maximum of 4 metres per household. Only residents may register as vendors, giving the flea market its authentically local character. Entry is free for visitors.
