25 years of bargain hunting in the heart of Barraux

For a quarter of a century, the Barraux car boot sale has become an unmissable event for bargain hunters in the Grésivaudan. Jointly organized by the Comité de Jumelage and Les Compagnons de la Marche de Barraux, this event brings together 250 exhibitors in the center of the village, creating a vast open-air treasure hunt.

Exhibitors, both private individuals and professionals, take over the streets and squares of Barraux center from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. You can find everything: furniture, dishes, clothing, toys, books, trinkets, tools, and curiosities of all kinds. Pitches are offered at €4.50 per linear meter (2 meters deep), with the option to rent tables for 4 euros (50 euro deposit by check). Reservation is mandatory.

A village at the gates of Chartreuse

Barraux is a commune in the Grésivaudan located 3 km from Pontcharra, 20 km from Chambéry, and 40 km from Grenoble. At the gates of the Chartreuse massif, the village offers a spectacular mountain setting with views of the surrounding massifs. The Fort Barraux, a historic military fortification overlooking the valley, is a remarkable nearby heritage site.

Activities and conviviality

Beyond bargain hunting, the car boot sale offers activities, a tombola, a refreshment stand, and a catering service. Exhibitor check-in is from 5:30 AM to 7:15 AM depending on the location. Parking is signposted and marked. Toilets and disabled access are provided.
