Grand Assumption car boot sale in the village streets of Seilhac with firefighters' ball
Every August 15th, the streets of Seilhac transform into a vast open-air car boot sale. Private sellers take over the village center to offer clothes, toys, crockery, trinkets, books, and various items to the many treasure hunters. Stand setup begins at 6 am, and no vehicles are allowed to circulate in the car boot sale area after 8:30 am, ensuring a safe and pleasant walk for visitors.
The originality of August 15th in Seilhac lies in the strong involvement of the Amicale des Sapeurs-Pompiers, the event organizer. In the afternoon, a firefighters' village offers activities and demonstrations that delight young and old alike. In the evening, the traditional firefighters' ball takes over, offering a festive and popular atmosphere to beautifully conclude this summer day.
The cantonal capital located on the Monédières plateau between Tulle and Uzerche, Seilhac is a dynamic town that knows how to liven up its festivals throughout the summer. After July 14th at Lac de Bournazel with its spit-roast pig and fireworks, August 15th in the village streets is the second highlight of the Seilhac summer. These two complementary events illustrate the associative vitality of this Corrèze commune, which has a particularly active festival committee and firefighters' association.
