Annual spring car boot sale on the Gianotti esplanade in the medieval village of Sospel
Sospel is one of the most beautiful villages in the hinterland of Menton. Its 13th-century toll bridge, unique in France, its houses with colorful facades along the Bévéra, and its medieval streets make it an exceptional place. The Gianotti esplanade, in the heart of the village, hosts a friendly car boot sale every spring organized by the association Sospel en Fêtes.
From 6:30 AM, exhibitors set up their stalls on the esplanade, taking advantage of the morning coolness of this village located at 350 meters above sea level. Early birds get the best deals, but the market remains lively until 4 PM. You can find clothes, toys, books, dishes, small furniture, and decorative items at affordable prices.
Sospel is located at the gates of the Mercantour National Park, making it an ideal starting point for hikers. The village also houses Fort Saint-Roch, a Maginot Line fortification, open for visits. Combining the car boot sale with a walk along the Bévéra or a visit to the fort makes this day a complete excursion into the hinterland of the Côte d'Azur.
