A hilltop village between plateau and valley

Burg is a small village of around 270 souls located 8 km northwest of Lannemezan, in the Hautes-Pyrenees. Perched on the side of a hill detached from the great Lannemezan plateau, the village offers a remarkable panorama of the Bigorre hills and the first Pyrenean foothills. It is in this bucolic setting that this triple event takes place each spring, keeping the local community spirit alive.

Three events in one

The day revolves around three complementary areas. The garage sale allows individuals to sell objects, clothing and knick-knacks accumulated over the years. The craft market showcases local expertise: Gascon terroir products, handmade creations, wooden objects, natural soaps and homemade treats. Finally, the plant exchange brings together local gardeners who trade seeds, cuttings and young vegetable, flower and herb plants.

The village spirit

In Burg, people take time to chat with neighbors, share a drink in the shade of a plane tree and rediscover the authenticity of village events. Far from the hustle of large urban flea markets, this gathering appeals through its simplicity and human warmth. Children run between the stalls while elders exchange gardening tips.
