Annual summer car boot sale in Lagrasse, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France in the Corbières
There is no edition scheduled in 2026 for this event. This page remains accessible to archive the history of the manifestation and will be updated if a new edition is announced.
Lagrasse is one of the most remarkable villages in the Aude region and is listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Its Benedictine abbey, founded in the 8th century according to tradition by Charlemagne and now inhabited by regular canons of the Mother of God, dominates the village with its powerful towers. The medieval streets, the typical Languedoc arcades, the old bridge over the Orbieu, and the dressed stone houses form a remarkably coherent architectural ensemble.
The village is surrounded by vineyards of the Corbières and benefits from a mild microclimate favoring lush vegetation. The Orbieu, a crystal-clear river, runs along the foot of the village, offering beautiful natural beaches that are very popular in summer.
The setup of car boot sale stalls in the medieval streets and the covered square of Lagrasse creates an incomparable atmosphere. Second-hand items take on a special dimension in this setting of ancient stones, and visitors feel as if they are browsing in a village straight out of the Middle Ages.
Exhibitors offer a varied selection:
Summer in Lagrasse is a period of intense cultural and tourist activity. The village hosts numerous events: concerts of ancient and contemporary music, art exhibitions, guided tours of the abbey and the medieval village. The car boot sale is part of this lively summer program, attracting an audience that combines treasure hunting with cultural discovery.
The village's restaurants and cafes offer regional specialties that make for a pleasant day out. Local producers of Corbières wine, olive oil, and honey are also present in the markets and shops of the village.
The Lagrasse car boot sale is the ideal opportunity to discover the inland Corbières, a wild and preserved territory between Narbonne and Carcassonne. The Gorges de l'Orbieu, the Château de Termes, the Abbey of Lagrasse itself, and the surrounding hilltop villages form an exceptional heritage trail. Hiking enthusiasts will find trails of all difficulties in the Corbières through scrubland and vineyards.
