Spring car boot sale in Frambouhans in the Pays de Maîche
Frambouhans is a commune in the Pays de Maîche (25140), in the Haut-Doubs, belonging to the community of communes of the Pays de Maîche. Perched on the Comtois plateau near the Swiss border and the canton of Bernese Jura, this village with its rich watchmaking past organizes its car boot sale every spring, a popular event that brings together locals and bargain hunters from the area.
The Frambouhans car boot sale perfectly reflects the identity of this Haut-Doubs region: authenticity, solidity, and a sense of sharing. The exhibitors, mainly individuals from the village and neighboring communes, offer varied and often unusual items: rustic Comtois furniture, agricultural and watchmaking tools, porcelain or earthenware tableware, embroidered linens, clothing, books, and toys. The local watchmaking tradition is sometimes found in watchmaking or jewelry pieces offered for sale.
The Pays de Maîche is a region characterized by its plateau landscapes at 800-900 meters altitude, its coniferous forests, and its Comtois farms with wide overhanging roofs. Frambouhans is part of this typical Haut-Doubs landscape, offering visitors to the car boot sale a magnificent natural setting in May when the vegetation takes on its spring colors.
Frambouhans is accessible from Maîche via the D461, a few kilometers away. To participate as an exhibitor, contact the town hall or local organizers.
