Edition Octobre 2025 — Vide-Grenier Le Rove

The 2025 edition of the Vide-Grenier du Rove was held in October in this Provençal village nestled in the heart of the Massif de la Nerthe, on the Côte Bleue. Private sellers and bargain hunters from the Bouches-du-Rhône gathered in the village center, a short walk from the hills where the famous Rove goats graze. Crockery, books, clothing, toys, and knick-knacks animated the stalls of this popular car boot sale, in the authentic atmosphere of a village that gave its name to a millennia-old goat breed and to Brousse du Rove, an emblematic AOP cheese of Provence.

In October 2025, the Vide-Grenier du Rove brought together locals and visitors in the center of this Provençal village perched on the Massif de la Nerthe, the first village of the Côte Bleue at the gates of Marseille. The mild Mediterranean autumn temperatures provided an ideal setting for this day of outdoor treasure hunting, between garrigue and limestone hills.

The stalls offered the usual variety of Provençal car boot sales: crockery and pottery, books and records, clothing and accessories, toys, decorative knick-knacks, and small furniture. The village atmosphere of Le Rove, a commune of 4,500 inhabitants with 87% of its territory classified as a protected site, gave this event a special charm, far from the hustle and bustle of the nearby big cities.

Le Rove, the birthplace of the Rove goat present in these hills for over 2,600 years, is also the original village of Brousse du Rove AOP, a fresh raw milk cheese that became the 51st French dairy AOP in 2020. The Chapelle Saint-Michel, a 12th-century Templar edifice classified as a historic monument, and the Camp de Laure, the oldest oppidum in Provence, bear witness to the ancient human occupation of this territory. The Canal du Rove, a monumental work from the early 20th century that once connected the Mediterranean to the Étang de Berre, completes an exceptional heritage that visitors to the car boot sale could discover during their stroll.
