The community car boot sale in the heart of Chalosse landaise
The Tchanques Chalosse association organizes its car boot sale every year in Montfort-en-Chalosse, a picturesque village perched on a hill overlooking the Louts valley. The event, now in its third edition in 2026, has quickly become a popular gathering for bargain hunters in Chalosse and the greater Dax area.
The car boot sale is spread across two complementary spaces: the Maison Arts & Loisirs, which offers a covered area ideal in case of bad weather, and the Place du Foirail, a large open-air square in the center of the village. This setup allows for a significant number of exhibitors to be accommodated in optimal conditions, whether it rains or shines.
Montfort-en-Chalosse is a charming village of 1,100 inhabitants, known for its MusΓ©e de la Chalosse, which retraces rural life in the Landes region of yesteryear. The village, with its old houses and breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, offers a prime setting for this day of treasure hunting. Visitors can take the opportunity to discover the local heritage after browsing the stalls of the car boot sale.
The Tchanques Chalosse association makes a point of creating a friendly atmosphere. Refreshments and food are available on-site, allowing visitors to extend their visit in good spirits. The event runs from 9 am to 5 pm, giving early birds and afternoon strollers alike ample time to enjoy the stands.
