Annual car boot sale in June in Villenauxe-la-Grande, a rural town in northern Aube
Villenauxe-la-Grande is a commune in the north of the Aube department (10), located not far from the border with Seine-et-Marne. Its geographical position makes it a natural crossroads between two regions, giving it a larger population base than its size might suggest. The annual June car boot sale takes advantage of this situation to attract visitors and exhibitors from both sides of the departmental boundary.
The month of June is particularly conducive to outdoor car boot sales: the days are long, the temperatures are pleasant, and the spring light enhances the objects displayed on the stalls. Villenauxe-la-Grande offers an attractive rural setting for a pleasant day of treasure hunting.
Villenauxe-la-Grande is a rural commune that retains the characteristic features of Champagne towns: an old parish church, brick and millstone houses, and an active associative fabric. The organization of the annual car boot sale is the result of the work of local volunteers who wish to liven up their town and create social connections among the inhabitants.
The town has a local market and a few local shops that benefit from the activity generated by the car boot sale to welcome an increased number of visitors. Local restaurateurs and café owners are happy to open their doors for the event.
The exhibitors at the Villenauxe-la-Grande car boot sale are exclusively private individuals, in accordance with car boot sale regulations. You can find everything: crockery and kitchen utensils, furniture and decorative objects, clothing and accessories for all ages, toys and board games, books and magazines, vinyl records and cassettes, tools and gardening equipment. The diversity of items offered guarantees original finds for all types of visitors.
The north of the Aube department is a transition zone between the chalky Champagne region and Brie. The open landscapes of large cereal plains alternate with forest masses and valleys with green meadows. This rural region, far from major cities, has managed to preserve a quiet way of life and vibrant traditions, of which car boot sales are one of the most popular expressions.
The town of Provins, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is located about twenty kilometers from Villenauxe-la-Grande and is a complementary destination for visitors who wish to extend their flea market day with a stroll through this exceptional medieval town.
The annual flea market of Villenauxe-la-Grande returns in June 2026. This treasure hunt event traditionally takes place on Sunday in the heart of this Champagne village in northern Aube, with numerous private and professional exhibitors set up right in the town center (promenade du Tour de ville, near the Prieur-Vignot gymnasium and the Perrey stadium).
Organized by the municipality of Villenauxe-la-Grande, this flea market annually brings together bargain hunters and exhibitors for a day of outdoor second-hand goods. You can find everything: clothes, books, furniture, toys, crockery, and all kinds of bric-a-brac.
The pitch is charged at €2 per linear meter, with 5 meters offered to residents of Villenauxe-la-Grande upon presentation of proof of address. Registrations are made at the town hall (application form available at the town hall or on the municipal website). On-site catering (food trucks).
