Annual car boot sale in Pézens, agricultural commune in the Aude plain
Pézens is a commune in the Aude department located in the Razès plain, about ten kilometers west of Carcassonne. This agricultural and wine-growing area, crossed by the Aude river and the Canal du Midi, features an open landscape of cereal plains and vineyards. Pézens is a quiet commune whose local life is marked by agricultural work and community events.
The commune belongs to the hinterland of Carcassonne, at the transition between the wine-growing plains and the wooded hills of the Piège, a little-known but charming natural area, characterized by gentle rolling hills and preserved villages.
The Pézens car boot sale is part of the long tradition of popular events in the rural communes of the Aude. These events, organized every summer or spring by local associations, are an important moment in the social life of small villages. They allow residents to meet, exchange, and participate in a festive day away from the everyday.
The stalls offer a selection of second-hand items representative of the attics of the Aude hinterland:
The territory surrounding Pézens offers great heritage richness. A few kilometers to the west, the Lauragais — land of pastel and cassoulet — begins, with its characteristic windmills on the ridges and its medieval market halls in the bastides. To the east, Carcassonne and its UNESCO-listed medieval City are an unmissable destination.
The Piège, north of Pézens, is a region of gentle hills and preserved villages that is worth a visit. Its bocage landscapes, Romanesque chapels, and local producer markets make it a popular destination for lovers of authentic rural tourism.
The organizing association of the Pézens car boot sale makes it a point of honor to maintain an accessible event for everyone. Entry is free, pitches are at low prices for private sellers, and the refreshment stand offers drinks at reasonable prices. This philosophy of accessibility ensures the participation of a diverse audience and helps maintain active social life in this rural commune.
The Pézens Flea Market returns on Friday, July 3, 2026 in this rural commune of the Aude's Razès region. Located at 3 rue Ozanam, this annual event gathers approximately 150 exhibitors and welcomes bargain hunters from 7 AM to 6 PM (exhibitor setup from 6 AM).
Admission is free for visitors. For pitches, expect to pay €2 per meter (or €5 for 3 meters) to hold a stall. Coffee offered to exhibitors and on-site catering: fries, grilled food, and a refreshment stand throughout the day.
The Pézens Flea Market is a summer classic in the Aude. Every year in early July, the village center, rue Ozanam, transforms into a large clear-out where individuals and bargain hunters come to find second-hand items, vintage goods, clothes, toys, and trinkets.
Pézens is accessible from Carcassonne (about 15 minutes west) via the D119 towards Castelnaudary. Parking in the village.
Generally from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, depending on local organization.
Free entry for visitors.
