Every May, the small commune of Montigny, located in the berrichon Pays Fort to the northeast of the Cher department, hosts a car boot sale and flea market in the car park opposite the school. This village event brings together locals and passing bargain hunters in a friendly and authentic atmosphere.
From 8 am to 6 pm, private sellers set up their stalls in the car park, offering a variety of second-hand items: clothing, toys, crockery, trinkets, books, and tools. Entry is free, making it an ideal family outing to enjoy the first beautiful days of spring in the berrichon countryside.
Montigny is a rural commune in the Pays Fort, a hilly and wooded area located between Sancerre and Henrichemont. This region, once renowned for its agricultural richness β hence its name "Pays Fort" (Strong Country) β offers landscapes of hills, hedgerows, and traditional farms. The car boot sale is an opportunity to discover this little-known and preserved corner of the Cher.
In the style of the small towns of Berry, Montigny cultivates a village spirit where local events are moments of sharing and conviviality. The May car boot sale plays a full part in this associative and community life, bringing neighbours and visitors together around the pleasure of bargain hunting.
