The Mison Car Boot Sale

The village of Mison hosts a car boot sale every spring in a typical Provençal setting on the border of the Hautes-Alpes. A 5-meter pitch is offered for 10 euros upon reservation. Exhibitors set up from 6:30 am for a day of treasure hunting until 5 pm.

Mison, a Border Village between the Alps and Provence

Mison is located at the crossroads of the Hautes-Alpes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, between Laragne-Montéglin and Sisteron. The village is dominated by the remains of a medieval castle and surrounded by typically Provençal landscapes: lavender fields, orchards, olive trees, and garrigue. The climate, particularly mild and sunny for an Alpine department, attracts nature and tranquility lovers.

What to Find at the Stalls?

Exhibitors offer a wide range of second-hand items: antique tableware, trinkets, frames and mirrors, books and magazines, toys, clothing, small appliances, tools, sports equipment, vinyl records and CDs, home textiles, and decorative objects. In the Hautes-Alpes, one can also regularly find typical mountain objects: old agricultural tools, cowbells, Savoyard furniture, vintage skis, snowshoes, and hiking equipment. Prices are generally very attractive, making these car boot sales an economical and ecological alternative to buying new.
