30th edition of the biggest car boot sale in the region on Ascension Day
The Vide-grenier de l'Ascension de Meyssiez is an institution. For 30 years, the Sou des Écoles publiques of Meyssiez has transformed the village center into a vast treasure trove every Ascension Thursday. This event, one of the most important in the region, attracts thousands of visitors from all over Nord-Isère and beyond.
On Ascension Day, the center of Meyssiez becomes entirely pedestrian. The village streets are lined with stalls where individuals offer a huge selection of second-hand items: crockery, clothes, toys, books, tools, furniture, trinkets, and treasures of all kinds. The atmosphere is that of a big village festival, warm and lively.
Founded three decades ago, this car boot sale has grown over the years to become the unmissable event of Ascension Thursday in the department. The Sou des Écoles de Meyssiez, a parents' association, donates all profits to the public schools in the commune. The quality of the organization and the loyalty of the exhibitors explain the longevity and success of this event.
Outdoor pitches are available for €3 per linear meter, while indoor spaces with tables cost €4. Sellers can set up from 5:30 am, and the event ends at 4 pm. Advance registration is recommended, and organizers can be reached in the evening at 06 07 64 13 58 or via the event's Facebook page.
