Family boot sale organised by the parent-teacher association in Gâtine
The La Chapelle-Bâton PTA boot sale is a springtime event bringing together 100 to 200 exhibitors in this Gâtine village. Organised by the parent-teacher association of La Chapelle-Bâton and Saint-Christophe-sur-Roc, this event attracts bargain hunters from across the area. Opening at 6am for exhibitors and 8am for the public, it offers a full day of open-air browsing with refreshments and catering on-site.
Each March, the parent-teacher association of La Chapelle-Bâton and Saint-Christophe-sur-Roc organises its boot sale, which has become an unmissable fixture in the Gâtine flea market calendar over the years. Between 100 and 200 exhibitors, both private and professional, take over the village to offer toys, books, clothing, crockery, furniture and all manner of items.
All proceeds from the boot sale go towards school activities: educational outings, shows, equipment and festive events for the village school children. Participating as an exhibitor or visitor means directly contributing to the wellbeing of pupils and the life of the village school.
La Chapelle-Bâton is a rural commune in the Parthenay-Gâtine community of communes, located about fifteen kilometres south-east of Parthenay. The village, nestled in the Gâtine bocage, provides a green and peaceful setting for this day of browsing.
Exhibitor welcome starts at 6am, with the public admitted from 8am. The event runs until 7pm. Refreshments and catering are provided on-site by PTA volunteers. Free parking around the village.
