The summer rederie of a Santerre village
The Jumel Flea Market brings life each early August to this peaceful village of the Santerre, halfway between Amiens and Montdidier. A local rederie with an authentic atmosphere, where residents set up their stalls for a day of friendly bargain hunting in the heart of the Picard countryside.
Jumel is one of those discreet villages of the Amiens Santerre, south of the Picard capital, whose annual rederies faithfully gather inhabitants and passing bargain hunters. Each early August, the flea market transforms the peaceful streets.
Like many small villages in the department, Jumel relies on local volunteers. Stalls are set up at dawn, bargain hunters arrive early.
Classic rural Picard flea market inventory: clothing for the whole family, toys, books, crockery, linen, small furniture, knick-knacks, tools.
Jumel is a commune of about 400 inhabitants located in the Somme, at the heart of the Santerre, about twenty kilometers southeast of Amiens. The Santerre was deeply marked by World War I combats.
Amiens and its UNESCO cathedral are less than half an hour away. Corbie abbey, Samara park, Péronne Historial complete the offer.
