The annual flea market of the Santerre town
The Moreuil Réderie is one of the eagerly awaited late-summer events in the southeast of the Somme. This small Santerre town, located at the confluence of the Noye, Avre and Luce rivers, hosts this annual flea market each year on its squares and streets.
Throughout the day, the Moreuil town centre transforms into a vast bargain-hunting area. Stalls line up in pedestrian streets and squares. Visitors enjoy the café terraces between purchases.
The Moreuil Réderie offers a typical assortment: family bric-a-brac, crockery, second-hand clothing, toys, books, records, small furniture, collectibles. Seasoned bargain hunters regularly find rustic furniture, antique Picardy crockery and everyday objects from yesteryear.
Moreuil is a small town of about 4,000 inhabitants, marked by a rich history. The Bois de Moreuil was, in March 1918, the scene of a heroic charge by Canadian cavalry.
Written into the calendar of essential events in southern Somme, the Moreuil Réderie attracts a loyal and growing audience each year.
