Annual car boot sale in August in Gyé-sur-Seine, in the Champagne vineyards of the Aube
Every August, the village of Gyé-sur-Seine (10250) in the Aube hosts its annual car boot sale. This summer event is particularly appreciated for the exceptional setting offered by this wine-growing village on the banks of the Seine, in the Côte des Bar.
Gyé-sur-Seine is a commune in the Côte des Bar, a sub-region of Champagne renowned for its Pinot Noir vineyards. The village is located on the banks of the Seine, which has its source nearby, in the Burgundy hills. This unique natural setting – river, vineyards, wooded hills – gives the car boot sale a particularly pleasant atmosphere in the height of summer. August, a period of high temperatures and holidays, attracts many visitors to this region.
Private sellers from Gyé-sur-Seine and neighboring wine-growing communes offer a fine selection of second-hand items during the car boot sale: antique and rustic furniture, crockery and tableware, clothing and accessories, toys and games, books and old documents, vinyl records and cassettes, tools and miscellaneous equipment. The richness of the local heritage is sometimes reflected in the items offered.
The Gyé-sur-Seine car boot sale is part of a lively summer calendar. Visitors can take the opportunity to explore the wine landscapes of the Côte des Bar, the banks of the Seine, and the rural heritage of the area. The day of treasure hunting takes place in a relaxed holiday atmosphere, enhanced by refreshments provided by local volunteers.
The Gyé-sur-Seine car boot sale is held annually in August in the commune. Free entry for all visitors. To register as a seller, please contact the town hall or local associations.
