Nestled at 500 meters altitude in the Jura des lacs, the small village of Cogna organizes a flea market and car boot sale every summer in its village square. Between 50 and 100 exhibitors set up their stalls for this open-air flea market day, attracting bargain hunters and strollers from surrounding towns.

A rural setting for treasure hunting

The village square of Cogna, lined with stone houses typical of the Haut-Jura, offers an authentic setting for this car boot sale day. From 8 am to 6 pm, visitors browse the stalls in search of bargains among crockery, toys, clothes, books, and various trinkets. The atmosphere is that of a country car boot sale, friendly and unpretentious.

Cogna, a village in the Haut-Jura

Located between Clairvaux-les-Lacs and Champagnole, Cogna is a typical village on the Jura plateau, surrounded by coniferous forests and pastures. The municipality, with about 300 inhabitants, is part of the Champagnole Nozeroy Jura community of communes. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the Hérisson waterfalls, the lakes of Chalain and Clairvaux, or the Gorges de la Langouette.

Practical information

Entry is free for visitors. The car boot sale is usually held on a Sunday in July. It is advisable to arrive early in the morning to find the best treasures.
