August 15th flea market along the Canal de Savières in Chanaz
The Amicale du Mont Landard hosts this annual August 15th flea market along the picturesque Canal de Savières in Chanaz, nicknamed the little Venice of Savoie. A summer highlight set among stone houses and calm canal waters, perfect for treasure hunting in one of Savoie's most charming villages.
Every August 15th, the Amicale du Mont Landard turns the banks of the Canal de Savières into a vast open-air flea market. The Chanaz vide-grenier is one of the most popular summer events in Savoie, drawing hundreds of visitors for a festive day by the water.
Chanaz, often called the little Venice of Savoie, provides an incomparable backdrop for this event. Stalls line the canal, set between old stone houses, artisan workshops, and village shops. Visitors browse while admiring the picturesque charm of this lakeside village near Lac du Bourget.
The flea market offers a wide variety of items: vintage clothing, antique tableware, second-hand books, toys, ornaments, furniture, and many other curiosities. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a casual stroller, you'll find something among the treasures offered by private sellers.
Take the opportunity to discover the highlights of Chanaz: its working walnut oil mill, pottery workshops and glass-blowing studios, as well as boat trips on the canal. The village is also an ideal starting point for exploring the shores of Lac du Bourget and the surrounding Chautagne vineyards.
