The autumn rendezvous in the Tarn Lauragais
Nestled in the rolling hills of the Tarn Lauragais, the little village of Algans hosts its annual autumn flea market. A small-scale event where villagers and neighbours display their stalls in a preserved rural setting, amid sunflower fields and the hills of the pastel country.
Algans, a small rural commune in the Cuq-Toulza canton, hosts an autumn flea market that gathers villagers and residents from surrounding communes. Located on the edge of the Tarn, in the rolling Lauragais landscape of the pastel country, Algans offers an authentic rural atmosphere, far from the bustle of larger Albi or Castres flea markets.
The Algans flea market is a neighbourhood rendezvous, bringing together mainly private individuals clearing out attics, cellars and garages. Expect the classics: clothing, toys, crockery, books, small furniture, knick-knacks, baby items and everyday objects. The atmosphere is relaxed and invites unhurried browsing and chats with the sellers.
Visiting Algans on a flea-market Sunday means discovering a little-known corner of the Tarn: medieval church, typical Lauragais brick houses, rolling farmland where pastel and wheat once grew.
Bargain hunters and families who prefer intimate village flea markets over crowded large events. Prices remain gentle and finds are personal.
The Algans flea market returns on Sunday 20 September 2026 in the village streets. Private sellers from the Lauragais, relaxed atmosphere and gentle prices in this friendly village rendezvous.
Sunday 20 September 2026, usually 8am to 5pm.
