Spring car boot sale of the Chaprais and Cras neighborhoods in Besançon
Every year in May, the Chaprais and Cras neighborhoods of Besançon come alive for a day dedicated to treasure hunting and good deals. The car boot sale organized by ASEP (Neighborhood Sports and Leisure Association) brings together up to 120 exhibitors on the Esplanade Résal, offering visitors a complete overview of second-hand items: clothing, books, toys, trinkets, tableware, furniture, and curiosities of all kinds.
Much more than just a flea market, this car boot sale is a true neighborhood festival. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, conducive to meeting neighbors and lively discussions around the stalls. Regulars from Chaprais and Cras mingle with bargain hunters from all over the Besançon agglomeration, and even from the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. Refreshments and light snacks are available on site to enhance the day.
Individuals and ASEP members can book a spot at 22 rue Résal, at the association's headquarters, or by phone at 03 81 80 66 83. Prices are accessible: €5 for the first 2-meter spot for members, €10 for non-members. Each additional space is charged at €10. On-site registration is possible from 7 am on the day of the event, subject to availability.
The Esplanade Résal is easily accessible by public transport from the center of Besançon, as well as on foot or by bike from neighboring areas. Parking is available on the surrounding streets. The event is held outdoors, so it is advisable to wear clothing suitable for the Franche-Comté spring weather.
